Kolby King is the author of numerous books, a Christian minister, a public school assembly speaker, and he and his wife, Mary Beth, founded ThreeThirtyMinistries.com.
“When I was in the first grade, I hated reading. I couldn’t do it well. I was afraid I’d look dumb if I had to read in front of everyone. I thought it was better just not to try than to try and fail, so I began playing sick during reading time. I just didn’t want to be there. My teacher sent me home several times before she and my mama figured out what I was doing. Then they taught me something powerful – That just because something doesn’t come easy, doesn’t mean you can’t do it. It might take you a little longer. You might have to try a little harder, but there’s nothing you can’t accomplish if you listen to the right voices, make the right choices, and don’t quit on yourself…”
Kolby’s first book, Ventriloquism Made Easy, was published by Dover Publishing in New York at the age of 19.
“Today, I see a lot of kids giving up on themselves. They don’t think they’re not smart enough or good enough. This book series is designed to inspire hope, to challenge kids to be brave and courageous, and to know how to stand up for what’s right – My heart behind this series is that it will help people understand what real life is all about.”
Kolby originally told these stories to his daughter, Ezri. But the greatest story of Kolby’s life is how Jesus Christ saved and changed him.
“I always had so much fear as a kid, but my biggest fear was death. Then I gave my life to Jesus Christ. He saved me. Now I know I don’t have to be afraid. My eternity is secure in Him. I know without a doubt that I’ll be with God forever in Heaven—not because of anything I’ve done, but of His grace and love. He offers that same certainty and security to all who are willing to give their lives to Him.”
This book series is built on a Christian foundation of truth, mercy, and justice. Although the books don’t specifically quote Scripture, right is always right and wrong is always wrong. There is real good and there is real bad–just like real life. But to help, we have also provided a Bible-based devotion for each chapter based on situations that the main characters encounter. You can view these HERE.
Kolby and his family travel around the world sharing hope and truth using a variety of creative tools such as ventriloquism, illusions, fire stunts, and more. If you are interested in Kolby King coming to share at your school or church, you can learn more below:
